Producătorul de tapiserie pentru scaune auto Adient a anunțat că va închide fabrica de la Ploiești. Restructurarea planificată ar urma să implice eliminarea treptată a aproximativ 1.010 de locuri de muncă, precum și oprirea producției către mijlocul anului 2027, spune compania, citată de publicația Observatorul Prahovean.
Adient are 200 de unități de producție în 29 de țări.
Compania invocă „scăderea cererii din partea consumatorilor și declinul general al volumelor din piață” și vorbește despre faptul că nu a găsit „nicio opțiune viabilă” pentru a continua activitatea fabricii.
Adient este o companie desprinsă în 2016 din grupul producător de componente auto Johnson Controls.
Compania Adient avea acum cinci ani 1.800 de angajați la Poiești și anunța în 2020 că mai crește efectivele cu 200 de oameni, potrivit News.ro. În 2023, Adient anunța că va angaja încă 120 de oameni în Prahova.
Rata șomajului în Prahova, în 2025, a fost de 2,22%, fiind sub media națională de 3,12%, conform datelor AJOFM Prahova.
În Prahova funcționează mai mulți producători de componente auto, cel mai cunoscut fiind Yazaki.
