Uniunea Europeană a convenit, marți, cu titlu provizoriu, asupra regulilor referitoare la suspendarea și retragerea permisului de conducere, ca parte dintr-o serie de măsuri pentru îmbunătățirea siguranței rutiere, transmite AFP.
Conform noilor reguli, orice restricții sau interdicții introduse de autoritățile unui stat membru împotriva unui șofer pentru a-l sancționa în cazul unui accident rutier grav se vor aplica și în țara în care a fost eliberat permisul auto al persoanei respective. Apoi, țara care a emis carnetul de șofer va trebui să aplice măsura pentru întregul teritoriu al UE.
În prezent, dacă un șofer își pierde permisul într-o altă țară a UE decât cea în care a fost eliberat, sancțiunea se aplică doar în statul în care a avut loc infracțiunea.
„Prin introducerea unor criterii mai clare și mai oportune pentru suspendarea privilegiilor de șofat din cauza încălcărilor grave, această măsură îi protejează nu numai pe șoferii responsabili, ci și pe întreaga comunitate”, a declarat eurodeputatul Matteo Ricci.
Acordul încheiat între Parlamentul European și reprezentanții statelor membre a venit la câteva ore după consensul provizoriu al echipelor de negociere în privința permiselor…
