Grupul german Volkswagen AG nu va putea construi planificata fabrică pentru marca sa premium Audi în Statele Unite, dacă nu sunt reduse taxele vamale, a afirmat directorul general al VW, Oliver Blume, într-un interviu acordat ziarului Handelsblatt.
„Ţinând cont de povara nemodificată a taxelor vamale, mari investiţii suplimentare nu pot fi finanţate. Reducerea costurilor pe termen scurt şi condiţii de afaceri de încredere sunt de asemenea necesare”, a declarat Oliver Blume, potrivit DPA și Agerpres.
Acesta a adăugat că discuţiile din Washington cu preşedintele Donald Trump şi secretarul american pentru comerţ, Howard Lutnick, nu au dus la rezultatele necesare.
„Oricine investeşte, oferă locuri de muncă şi creează valoare trebuie de asemenea să beneficieze pe partea de costuri. Rămânem deschişi la găsirea unor soluţii din care să profite ambele părţi”, a anunţat şeful VW.
Audi, subsidiara VW, analiza din 2023 înfiinţarea unei fabrici în Statele Unite, apreciind la acel moment că noile subvenţii guvernamentale vor face profitabilă noua unitate.
