Deși vânzările de mașini complet electrice au crescut cu 30% în întreaga Europă în 2025, adoptarea vehiculelor electrice pe continent a rămas în urma așteptărilor industriei.
Producătorii de automobile, de la Volkswagen la Stellantis, proprietarul Fiat, care au investit masiv în așteptarea unei cereri mult mai mari de vehicule electrice, au înregistrat în ultimul an cheltuieli de miliarde de dolari pentru a acoperi deprecierile de active.
Calculele cumpărătorilor au fost transformate de o creștere a prețurilor internaționale la petrol la mult peste 100 de dolari pe baril, de când atacurile aeriene ale SUA și Israelului asupra Iranului de la sfârșitul lunii februarie au declanșat un conflict mai amplu și au dus la o întrerupere fără precedent a aprovizionării cu energie.
