Producătorii de medicamente, care acoperă 60% din piața locală, au infirmat zvonurile conform cărora epidemia de coronavirus ar putea afecta prețurile: „Reamintim că producătorii din ţară pun în circulaţie circa 60% din cutiile de medicamente aflate în farmacii şi spitale, astfel încât acţionează cu responsabilitate pentru a asigura continuitatea tratamentelor populaţiei. Fabricile din ţară au reuşit să se aprovizioneze rapid de la toţi furnizorii cu stocuri suficiente de materie prima care să acopere necesarul de medicamente până în iunie-august 2020. Aşadar, absenţa unor medicamente din piaţă nu este datorată infecţiei cu Coronavirus, ci altor probleme punctuale (probleme tehnice, retrageri de medicamente din cauza preţului foarte mic şi a taxei clawback, exporturi paralele, etc.) care existau şi înainte de apariţia acestei boli“.
În plus, reprezentanții PRIMER au subliniat: „Aşa cum se ştie, preţurile medicamentelor eliberate cu prescripţie medicală sunt reglementate de autorităţi, deci o încercare de scumpire este ilegală şi se sancţionează conform legii. În plus, reprezentanţii PRIMER s-au angajat să nu scumpească medicamentele eliberate fără prescripţie medicală (OTC) al căror preţ nu este reglementat, tocmai pentru că utilizatorii lor să poată să se trateze la aceleaşi preţuri de dinainte de apariţia epidemiei cu Coronavirus“.
