În încercările sale de a obține aprobarea europeană pentru sistemul său „Full Self-Driving” (FSD), Tesla a prezentat autorităților de reglementare din Suedia și Olanda statistici privind siguranța despre care cercetători independenți în domeniul siguranței rutiere afirmă că reprezintă marketing înșelător, dezvăluie Reuters.
O investigație anterioară a Reuters a arătat că Elon Musk, CEO-ul Tesla, și alți directori ai companiei au invocat tot mai frecvent în ultimul an statistici despre care susțin că demonstrează că funcția de asistență la condus FSD este de până la zece ori mai sigură decât șoferii umani. Reuters a analizat datele și susține că la baza acestor statistici stau mai multe comparații de date nevalide, care au exagerat afirmațiile Tesla privind siguranța.
Corespondența obținută acum de Reuters prin solicitări de acces la informații publice arată că Tesla a prezentat aceste date de siguranță „umflate” unor autorități de reglementare europene, în contextul în care încearcă să obțină o aprobare mai largă pentru FSD într-o regiune în care încearcă să își recâștige cota de piață.
