Grupul german Schaeffler, unul dintre cei mai mari producători de componente auto, anunța recent că va renunța la 4.700 de angajați în Europa, iar acum a explicat faptul că și fabrica de la Brașov va fi afectată. O parte din producție va fi mutată în alte uzine, dar vor fi făcute și investiții pentru producția de noi componente care în prezent sunt fabricate în sit-uri din Europa și Asia.
Schaeffler, care a deschis în 2002 fabrica de la Cristian (jud Brașov), spune că și această unitate va fi afectată de restructurări, alături de una din Slovacia. Două fabrici vor fi închise – În Austria și Marea Britanie – ca parte a unui plan gândit să aducă reduceri de costuri și creșteri de competitivitate. Compania NU a spus cu cât vor scădea efectivele de la Brașov.
Presa din Brașov a scris că ar putea să se renunțe la 800 de oameni.
Schaeffler spune într-un comunicat de presă că fabrica de lângă Brașov va fi „afectată de măsurile de consolidare”.
Schaeffler România produce componente de tehnică liniară pentru industria de maşini-unelte, componente pentru industria de autovehicule şi rulmenţi de mari dimensiuni pentru diferite aplicaţii industriale.
